How the AP Calculus AB/BC Score Calculator Works

AP Calculus AB/BC Exam Structure

The AP Calculus exam consists of multiple-choice and free-response sections, each contributing 50% to your final score, with calculator and no-calculator portions.

Section I: Multiple Choice

  • • Part A: 30 questions, no calculator (60 min)
  • • Part B: 15 questions, calculator required (45 min)
  • • Total: 45 questions in 105 minutes

Section II: Free Response

Score Calculation Method

Based on 2023 Exam Scoring Guidelines - these scores may not be 100% accurate:

  1. Multiple Choice: Raw score out of 45 points
  2. Free Response: Combined score from all 6 questions (typically 54 points)
  3. Weighted Score: MC × 1.2 + FRQ × 1.5
  4. AP Score: Converted to 1-5 scale based on thresholds
